Another Black and White selective shot. I went a gathering for dead leaves in the local park, and layed them in a paint tray with the rose head on top and photographed them at f10 to get adequate depth of field with my micro four thirds Olympus and 60mm macro.I then desaturated the leaves leaving the rose red and boosted the contrast slightly.

This Sunflower was photographed indoors using natural window light and a reflector placed at a 45 degree angle above and to the left of the subject. I always try to photograph my flora in natural light because it is much more pleasing to the eye giving subtle tones and a gentle graduation of color with a striking blue background to make the subject stand out.
